Then come see for yourself

Laying Foundations For The Future
An important partner in the creation of a 21st century business environment, the new one-of-a-kind Process Technology Center at College of the Siskiyous in Yreka provides training for area employers and workers in modern manufacturing technologies and plant operations. Participants benefit from instructional skills in hydraulics, pneumatics and computer control technologies.

We Have All Of The Great Connections.
Trucking and the I-5 Corridor
Located along Interstate 5, the largest truck corridor in the United States, the Shasta Valley Enterprise Zone is uniquely positioned to offer companies access to direct routes to Canada and Mexico (NAFTA Treaty Nations), and all international sea and airports in between.

The Enterprise Zone areas are also served by other state and federal highways, including US 97 North (Oregon), California 96 East (Nevada), California 96 West (California and Oregon Coast) and California 3 (interstate).

Approximately 11 interstate motor carriers serve the Enterprise Zone areas. UPS, Federal Express and Local carriers operate terminals in Yreka.

Class 3 Rail Roads
Southern Pacific Transportation Company (SP), McCloud River and Yreka Western Railroads jointly serve Enterprise Zone businesses and communities throughout Siskiyou County. These major and interconnecting shortline railroads offer connections to Portland, Seattle, Los Angles, Salt Lake City and New Orleans. Interconnections can also be made with Kansas City and ST. Louis. Commercial piggyback loading facilities are available.

Air
Well-equiped for private business aircraft and jet aircraft, the Shasta Valley Enterprise Zone features the Siskiyou County Airport (995 acres), a full service general aviation facility which could serve as a basic corporation transportation hub. The Enterprise Zone also hosts two municipal airports.

Regularly scheduled commercial air service is available in Redding (75 miles south) and Medford, Oregon (75 miles north).

Foundations For Affordable Living.
The city of Weed, a part of the Shasta Valley Enterprise Zone, provides an environment that offers your business and family opportunities for creating new wealth and productivity. Housing and land costs are lower than in most areas of California. Lower utility rates help businesses be even more profitable. Enterprise Zone and community incentives make siting decisions very attractive. And the Enterprise Zone features more than 250 competitively priced acres, including rail frontage, zoned for light to heavy industry.

Newly constructed, modern, functional, energy efficient and architecturally appealing homes sited on 1/3 acre lots with all city utilities located in a campus style gated type development sell for between $180,000 and $240,000. This developement, located in South Weed, offers a campus style development that is user friendly and neighborhood safe.
Older homes in the area sell for less, some for much less.
